The Christian is born of the Word, and as a result, he can only be built and nurtured by the Word. 1 Peter 2:2 says, “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.” The Word of God can build and transform any area of your life. Perhaps you think you’re not a very courageous person, the Word can build courage into your spirit. You might say, “I’m not a very confident person”; the Word can build your confidence. If you’re weak, the Word can infuse strength into you. Everything in life is

The Apostle Paul in the foregoing verses of Scripture deals with predestination. He tells us that there’re vessels appointed to God’s wrath—for destruction, and there’re vessels appointed to God’s mercy. He states that the vessels of mercy were appointed to glory; God prepared them in advance unto glory . Who are these vessels of mercy? It’s those of us who are born again. Romans 9:24 says, “Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews o

Grace and peace are two extremely vital elements you must have working in your life in increasing measure, for you to live the transcendent life that you’ve received in Christ. What is grace? Grace means more than unmerited favor; it refers to the divine influence on the human spirit. It’s the outworking or outward reflection of the beauty, power, perfection, excellence, virtue and glory of divinity in your human spirit. It’s a supernatural endowment that causes you to flourish and excel in all you do. Peace means amongst other beautiful things, power over crisis. It’s translated from the Greek word “eir é n é ,”

TRAIN YOURSELF TO LOVE - PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME

Love worketh no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law (Romans 13:10). Everyone deserves and qualifies to be loved, including those you may perceive to be “your enemies.” Jesus said, “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you” (Matthew 5:44). You don’t only love those who love you; you love everyone with the unconditional love of Christ. All people are the same when it comes to love. Everyone has the capacity to give and receive love. Everyone wants to be loved, though not everyone wants to give it or respond to it. Love is the greatest power in the universe. It goes beyond cultural divides, religious barriers, ethnic differences, and social stratification. Train yourself to walk in love. It’s a conscious choice you have to make; it’ll transform your life. In John 13:34, Jesus said, “A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one anothe

What some Christians assume from our opening scripture is that if Christ is in you, you have a hope of glory in the future. In a sense, that’s correct; if Christ is in you, there’s hope in your life for glory. But what that portion of Scripture means is, Christ in you is the fulfillment of that hope of glory. He’s not saying we have a hope that we’re going to have glory in the future, or in the sweet by and by. The hope that man was looking forward to

But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil (Hebrews 5:13-14). Some Christians get very excited to read 1 Corinthians 1:30: “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.” Then, they come across James 1:5: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him” and get confused. “Should one still ask for wisdom after Christ has been made unto us wisdom?” they wonder. Now, tho

GOD IS LOVE - PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME

Image
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love (1 John 4:7-8). Love is the totality of God’s nature. This is beyond someone having love in his heart or the ability to love; it means that He’s love personified. God is love! And because He’s love, He doesn’t have the capacity to hate; it’s not possible for God to hate. Hate is of the darkness. God is light, and in Him, there’s no darkness at all (1 John 1:5). The Bible says, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning” (James 1:17). Someone may reference Romans 9:13 and ask, But didn’t God say, “...Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated?” (Read Malachi 1:2-3). This is where understanding the place of poetry and prophecy, and the dichotomy of expression in the Scriptures come in. The language of the Prophets i

He’s goodness personified, but not many people see or perceive Him as such. They think He wants us afraid and apologetic all the time; so they try to be careful with Him, hoping not to offend Him. God isn’t that way. He’s not waiting to see you slip or make a mistake so He can sniff from heaven and wipe you off the face of the earth. He’s loving and kind. The Lord Jesus unveiled the Father to us as a loving Father. When He walked the earth, He represented everything that the Father is. The Jews knew God as the God of judgmen

He opens your eyes to see what others don’t see, and your ears to hear what others don’t hear. He anoints your eyes to see the right things, and your mind to understand and conceive lofty ideas.  This brings to mind the famous words of Michelangelo, the great artist. He said, “I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.” He saw what he could get out of an ordinary piece of marble, which everyone
