God’s desire is for all men to be saved and come to the knowledge (Greek: Epignosis) of the truth. The reason for bringing salvation to all men isn’t only for them to receive it and escape eternal damnation but also to come into an intimate knowledge, a fellowship or oneness with the truth. That’s when you really start living. For example, 1 Peter 1:23 says, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” This means you’re born of the Word; you’re...

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” Romans 6:3-4 One of the glorious truths of our Christian life is that we’ve been called into an inseparable oneness with the Lord; we were baptized into Jesus Christ, and are now members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones. In this inextricable union with Christ, God no longer distinguishes you from Him. No wonder Jesus said, “…I am the vine, ye are the branches…” (John 15:5). He was pointing out that we now share the same life with Him, because life comes through the vine, into the branches.
